The Far Side Experiences The Far Side, situated on the edge of Barrydale along the R62, offers immersive weekend experiences focused on creativity, nature, sustainability, and self-reliance. Guests stay in rustic on-site accommodation and take part in small-group, carefully curated weekends designed to reconnect you with the land, the sky, and yourself. Our offerings include Analog Photography Weekends (35mm, medium format, 4×5 large format and historic wet-plate processes), Astrology & Night Sky Weekends featuring Milky Way photography and telescope observations under dark, unpolluted skies, Permaculture & Sustainable Living Weekends covering food growing, composting, seed saving and preservation, Nature Revival Experiences with overnight mountain hikes, indigenous knowledge, river swims and meditation, and Preppers & Survival Skills Weekends focusing on fire-making, navigation, shelter building, food preservation and community resilience. Each experience is hands-on, grounded, and deeply restorative — offering practical skills, creative exploration, and meaningful connection in a wild and beautiful landscape.
